How Space on Tap helped us find the perfect venue for the launch

Newcastle Business woman Vicki Stone knew she wanted a venue that little bit different for the launch of her new women’s business network, so when North East space finders Space on Tap suggested a city-based Bowling Pavilion could be the perfect place, she was intrigued to find out more.

Summerhill Pavilion faced closure only a couple of years ago, and following its recent renovation by a local Charity, it’s one of the many community venues that have been introduced to North East businesses by Jayne Graham, founder and director of Space on Tap.

“Venue hire is big business in the North East” explains Jayne, “ but there are some amazing spaces out there that simply don’t have the resources to promote themselves successfully to business without a bit of help.  Through www.spaceontap.com people can discover some of the hidden gems that the North East has to offer, and Summerhill Bowling Pavilion is definitely one of them!”

Hugh Stolliday, Development Manager for the Friends of Summerhill Charity is pleased as punch that the Pavilion has been chosen for the launch of ‘Ladies that Network’, particularly as the event takes place on International Womens Day on 8th March. He explains “Like many community spaces we need to pay our way. Having a wide range of bookings for our Pavilion helps us do that, and through Space on Tap our space is quickly becoming a focal point for a variety of activities from networking events to weddings.   We only started working with the Space on Tap team a couple of months ago after discovering them through social media site Twitter, and as a result of their strong regional focus, great customer service and competitive pricing, we’ve already had lots of enquiries with an excellent conversion rate into firm bookings.”

The Ladies that Network event on 8th March will take advantage of the Pavilion’s distinctly British feel, and Vicki Stone, founder of award winning network Newcastle Business Mums, is looking forward to giving the venue a distinctive vintage feel for the launch of her new venture, with the fifty or more women expected to attend being treated to cakes and morning tea while they get down to business.
