We’re delighted to be working with new clients in the residential housing sector and in particular a new homes developer.

I have worked with residential house builders and international commercial property brands since the late 1990s.

Back then the winning formula for new developments for housing developers like Wilcon and Redrow Homes was showhome opening weekends, outdoor advertising, radio ads, newspaper free sheet advertising and door drops.

Vicki Stone & Ian Wright, rightmove ad 2000

In Year 2000 I worked for a small, (but highly creative ad agency in Birmingham called Wallis Tomlinson) and it was there I launched the rightmove TV campaign with Ian Wright.

Creative friends in advertising still joke about ‘Vicki and her mate Ian Wright’. Nonetheless, the campaign went on to win an IPA effectiveness award and made rightmove the number one property website.

Fast forward to 2018. The National House Building Council (NHBC) said builders registered plans to start 160,606 new homes, up 6 per cent from 2016 and the highest number since the start of the financial crisis in 2007 – Source – Independent January 2018.

The housing market and the way we market properties (and new developments in particular) has not changed so much, albeit the move to digital marketing platforms and a lot more competition for rightmove.

We’re still selling homes to people and people consume all sorts of digital and traditional media from bus backs to instagram. That’s why a fully integrated marketing strategy is important. Having a idea that works across all platforms and using social media and PPC is even more important than ever.

We work with property developers who don’t have a marketing department and need a good consultancy to work with their estate agent for a truly joined up approach.  We also work with developers who might have a marketing department in the Midlands, London, or outside the UK but don’t have the local marketing knowledge in the North East.

If you’re a developer and need some support with marketing and advertising we’re here to help. Get in touch.
